I believe it is good analysis to dichotomize the parts of the chariots, and who knows, Buddha was correct in his aggregation of the elements which constitute a person. In fact, it was quite an impressive feat to anticipate and analysize every pyscho-emotion of a person as how the abhidhamma recorded it. But the question remains in reality, should we look at the chariot as aggregates of parts? Or as you say it, is there nothing more than the sum of its parts?

Sabbe ratim dhammarati jinati - the pleasure of Dhamma exceeds all other pleasures.

Anticipating your write ups on Buddhism! Great to know that this blog is up!

annata means obviously the chariot ('non-self') is just a collection and there is nothing more than the sum of its parts.
