Surah al Imran ayat 3.64 of the Quran actually says: “O People of the Book [Jews, Christians and Muslims]! Come to common terms as between us and you: That we worship none but Allah. That we associate no partners with Him; that we erect not, from among ourselves, Lords and patrons other than Allah.” If then they turn back, say ye: “Bear witness that we (at least) are Muslims (bowing to Allah’s Will).”

Just some humble questions regarding the translation suggestions:

“1. Following the Arabic transliteration whenever Elohim, El, Eloah (or Theos in New Testament) are followed by possessive pronouns; for example, Ilahi instead of Allahku “my God”, and for the other pronouns, Ilahu, Ilahokom, and so on.”

(a) Why should Indonesians follos Arabic transiterations, except the are Muslims?

(b) What is th difference between changing “Allah” to Arabic terms “Ilahi”, “Ilahu” or simmilar right to the original Hebrew expression?

“2. Translating the word Elohim with possessive pronouns into Indonesian as Ilah; for example, Ilahku, Ilahmu, Ilah kita, and so on.”

Same question: Why change it to Arabic terms instead to Hebrew?
